Dirty oil just doesn't do the job as well as fresh oil does. The additives in dirty oil boil out, contaminants form in the crankcase and eat metal parts, and water collects over time and forms sludge. The oil holds more and more abrasive particles of metal suspended in it, and these particles wear away the parts of the engine that the oil is supposed to protect. Call us today to schedule your appointment! An oil change is great preventative maintenance!
The advantages of new tires are that they are brand new and covered under warranties by the manufacturer and some even offer road hazard warranties. Though with these bells and whistles comes the high dollar amount which can be detracting and not so ideal when in a financial pinch or when you leased the vehicle.

With used tires the disadvantage is that they are not new and are not covered by a manufacturer warranty but, advantage of going used is that it is lighter on your wallet which the extra money saved can be put towards labor or installation costs. Also if you're currently leasing your vehicle you wouldn't want to pay for brand new tires to end up not even using the tires you're investing in. Used tires are an eco-friendly cost-wise alternative that are still great for the road and fits the bill.

When your check engine light pops up on your car’s dashboard, your first instinct may be to panic. Rather than doing that, take a deep breath and learn why this might be happening in the first place. The problem could be minor or it could be major, depending how long your check engine light has been on for. The following could be reasons as to why your check engine light has appeared:

• Your oxygen (O2) sensor might need to be replaced. Your oxygen sensor is what measures the amount of unburned oxygen in your car’s exhaust system. If not replaced, your engine will burn more fuel than necessary, undergo a loss of fuel economy and can cause damage to your spark plugs and catalytic converter.

• The culprit could be your gas cap. If your gas cap is loose, damaged or missing, it could trigger your check engine light to appear. If not replaced, it could lead to loss of fuel through evaporation and more trips to the gas station.

• Your catalytic converter could be faulty. It’s your catalytic converter’s job to protect the environment by converting harmful carbon monoxide into carbon dioxide. If not replaced, it could result in your car not passing an emissions test, reduced performance and fuel economy, and your vehicle running at a higher temperature.

• The mass airflow sensor (MAF) in your vehicle is acting up. This sensor measures the amount of air entering your engine to determine how much gas is required to run it efficiently. If not replaced, it could cause damage to spark plugs, O2 sensors or the catalytic converter, and you’ll notice reduced performance and fuel economy within your vehicle.

• Your spark plugs or plug wires might need to be replaced.
